Exterior wood preservative Preservative ECOSEPT 440 (ЕКОСЕПТ 440) is an antiseptic preservative for exterior use. The product is designed to protect and preserve various types of wood from decay, algae, mold, wood- destroying and staining fungi, and wood-boring beetles when used outdoors, where it is exposed to atmospheric precipitation, ground moisture, hygroscopic and condensation moisture. It can be used as a standalone coating or as a bioprotective primer under paints and varnishes. The antiseptic prevents and stops the processes of wood degradation by biological agents. It does not alter the wood structure, nor does it hinder further wood processing, gluing, and painting. The heavy-duty antiseptic preservative effectively reduces the degree of end cracking during  drying, ensuring uniform wall shrinkage.     

PROPERTIES OF ECOSEPT 440:  

• Prevents bio-damage to wood;
• Stops the process of wood degradation by biological agents;  
• Reduces the degree of end checking in round timber, ensuring uniform shrinkage of wooden houses;  
• Can be used as an antiseptic primer before painting with any type of paint and coating materials (PCM);
• Does not change the structure of the wood;  Does not interfere with further processing, gluing, and painting;  
• Does not contain heavy metal salts or fluoride

Scope of Application: 

Exterior wood preservative is used as a protective coating for the treatment of exterior wooden walls, beams, logs, ceilings, joists, roofing systems, window and door blocks, fences, garden furniture, and other wooden elements for various purposes. It can be used as a standalone coating or as a bioprotective primer under paint and varnish materials (PVM).

OPERATING PRINCIPLE:

ECOSEPT 440 exterior wood antiseptic is a modern, water-based antiseptic in concentrated form. It provides multi-level protection for wood for a period of no less than 20 years. The formula does not contain carcinogens or heavy metals. The active components of ECOSEPT 440 penetrate the wood surface to a depth of 2-3 mm, where they bind at the cellular level, ensuring the antiseptic is not washed away by precipitation. Another feature of the product is the reduction of vapor permeability at the end grain of the wood for up to 6 months. Thanks to these properties, treated exterior walls of wooden construction projects are protected from the formation of deep cracks and splits in logs or beams during the summer, when moisture is actively being released. This ensures even drying of the wood and settling of wooden house walls.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Before applying the product, the surface must be cleaned of dirt, resin, dust, old paint, etc. If the wood surface is affected by wood-staining fungi (blue stain), it is recommended to pre-treat with ECOSEPT 500 bleach, which disinfects and restores the natural color of the wood. The work should be carried out at an ambient and surface temperature of at least +5°C.

PREPARATION OF WORKING SOLUTION: ECOSEPT 440 preservative antiseptic - concentrate.  Before use, shake the concentrate, then dilute with water at a ratio of 1:19.Upon dilution, the product forms a bright brown emulsion.The concentration of the working solution should be increased to 1:10 under unfavorable operating conditions or when treating wet wood.
